7-day Camel Trek to Erg Chegaga

The Desert Hike in Morocco is a walk in the big dunes of southern Morocco. A professional nomadic guide and camel drivers lead it. A camel caravan carries the luggage.

Experience the desert’s timeless allure on a 7-day camel trek. Immerse yourself in the enchanting landscapes of dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Day 01 :

M’hamid – Sidi Naji

M’hamid early departure. After several hours of walking, lunch in the shade of acacia trees. For a few hours, we resumed walking to the tomb of the marabout Sidi Naji. Setting up camp for a night under the stars or in the nomad tent.

Day 02 :

Sidi Naji – Erg Zahar

Crossing a Tamarisk Hamada before reaching Erg Zahar, a dune. It overlooks the most beautiful part of the Moroccan desert.

Day 03 :

Erg Zahar – Erg Laghrair

A few hours' walk led us to the Erg Smar for lunch and to resume the camel trek to Erg Laghrair.

Day 04 :

Erg Laghrair – Erg Chegaga

This day will lead us to Chegaga, the largest dunes in the region where we discover the nomadic lifestyle. The camp sits at the foot of a sea of sand and 300 m-high dunes. Its guests enjoy the beauty of dawn and dusk.

Day 05 :

Erg Chegaga – Oued Laatache

After a half-day walk, the caravan rests at Maihat Assolah. Then, it heads to the Sacred Oasis of Oum Lâalag to spend the night at Oued Laatache.

Day 06 :

Oued Laatache – Krait Jemal

Continuous operation and the discovery of desert plants. Telhatine arrives at noon, has lunch, and rests near a well. At 3:00 p.m., we head to Kraat Jemal for the night under the stars.

Day 07 :

Kraat Jemal – Mhamid

Change of scenery, Kraat allowed Jemal to find a well-earned rest in Mhamid.
